ABOUT

“My art is the jewelry of the environment they are placed in.”

— Karol Jersak

BIO

I want my abstract mixed media paintings to emulate raw creativity with the use of colors, chalk paints and papers. My studies include painting, drawing, sculpture and art history at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design for Fine Arts. The work I create is called abstract, naive expressionism . By ignoring rules of perspective, skewed content and bold colors, my paintings are meant to be very playful. My canvases have layering of chalk paints, papers and paint enhancers, to give rich textures and intensified colors. Travel, fashion and interior design are my influences for my work. My intention is to create paintings to be the jewelry piece of the room where they are placed. Many interior designers work with me in Southern Ca, Newport and Northern Ca., the Bay area.
